Amy Bilton is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto. She is the Associate Director of the Water and Energy Research Lab (WERL), which focuses on developing innovative water and energy technologies using computer-based design methods. She is currently the Director of the Centre for Global Engineering (CGEN), leading the initiative in addressing issues in healthcare, sanitation, and energy around the world – most notably in developing countries. She completed her PhD and MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics at M.I.T. and her B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science (Aerospace) from the University of Toronto. Prior to her time at UofT, Amy has also worked as a Systems Engineer at Pratt and Whitney Canada and Honeywell Aerospace.

Hossein Hosseinimanesh
Postdoctorate Associate
PhD, Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal
MS, Iran University of Science and Technology
Email: hhmanesh@mie.utoronto.ca

Hossein completed his PhD from Ecole Polytechnique Montreal in Mechanical Engineering. His expertise is in product development using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and experimental methods. He will be using these skills to assist WERL’s ongoing research projects and initiatives including the turbine design in the self-powered purification project and improving the CFD modelling of the solar aeration system.
